Silver Lake East national campground had just opened a few days before our June 28th camping trip. They have both reservable and first come first served spaces. There are three or four loops in the east campground. Is it just recently rained and the flowers and the smells were quite delightful. The campground was dry as they were repairing several leaks in the water system. The toilet facilities were still open and not affected by the lack of water. You may find it easier to get a reservation here. Silver Lake is a beautiful lake! It was very high this year with the recent rain. The campground is contiguous to kit Carson resort. We hiked the pothole'd hike downstream from the reservoir. Absolutely beautiful! You'll want to take that hike. It's not demanding. Although it does take you through a.
