For four years now my wife and I and our four kids have been traveling the country in a motorhome. One experience we have not had in that time was a farm experience where they could get hands on with some animals and see the hard work and responsibility that is required.

While doing some research I found Serenity Sheep Farm Stay that had a variety of farm animals in addition to the full herd of sheep. I made contact with LaVonne to see if she could accommodate a motorhome. At her request we booked as a tent camper and her property was more than sufficient to handle the heavy weight of a motorhome.

As a bonus while messaging with LaVonne I learned she operated a wool processing mill at the farm as well. My wife recently taught our kids the art of crocheting so being able to educate the kids with the entire process of creating yarn from the sheep to final product was just awesome.

Upon arrival, LaVonne was very welcoming and showed us where best to set-up. Shortly after getting settled she checked on us to see if we needed anything and showed us the layout of the farm including the bathroom and shower facilities if we needed them.

LaVonne then invited us to watch her tend to the animals including a baby sheep she is bottle feeding still from a harsh winter birth. I almost forgot this experience was supposed to be for my kids as I think I may have been slightly more excited than I ever expected being around the animals.

The next morning while enjoying coffee our kids were given the opportunity to tour the wool mill and learn all the stages of the process of taking the raw wool product and making it into the various final products desired by LaVonne’s customers.

I could go on and on and on and on and on and on about our experience but to be honest I would imagine everybody’s experience will vary depending on what you are seeking. If you are just wanting to spend a night in the peaceful quiet of the open range then this is definitely your place. If you are looking to get hands on with some animals then that is definitely possible. If you re looking to learn about wool and the processing of it to usable products then this is most definitely your place.

MOST of all if you are looking to be the guests to the most special hosts who make it so easy to have lasting memories that will forever bring a smile then this is definitely your place.
