Sockeye is a nice and clean campground with sand pads for the tents and concrete for tables and firepits. The trees are plentiful but smaller and skinny due to elevation and growing season. Site privacy is moderate. This park seems newly updated. I would definitely go back.
This place is beautiful and one of my favorites in the area. Access to our location was rough because of the huge potholes in the dirt road. Would not be suitable for cars. Very busy area in the warm summer months.

This newly renovated park is a terrific place to spend a weekend in the woods. There are individual and group sites available and include a creek that runs through it. The creek is fun to play in and the flow is minimal so it’s safe for most kids.
I wish all campgrounds were like Bonaparte Lake. It’s like stepping back in time. Jim the camp host is the nicest guy you’ll ever meet. The loons on the lake are special. The Bonaparte Resort next door serves three square old home cookin’ meals. Prime rib Saturday’s serve more food than you can handle.
