My husband and I visited to do some hiking while on vacation in Alexandria Bay. There is a $7 fee to enter the park, but it is worth it! The booth attendant informed us that there were camp sites, beaches, hiking trails, and a nature center. We decided to visit the nature center and then hit the trails, which were very well maintained. They were marked well and let you know how long they were so you could decide to do a quick hike or link some of the trails together for a longer walk. There were some great views of the river! Definitely make sure you bring bug spray as there were warning signs about ticks. We sprayed before going into the trail and didn't have any problems. There were some classes going on for kids when we were there too and we saw some "classrooms" while we were on the trails. The nature center was nice - it had some interactive things to help kids learn, clean bathrooms, a water refilling station, some very passionate rangers, and snacks for purchasing. This is a great place to spend a few hours or an entire day!
