The location can't be beat. It's in the middle of huntsville and has quick access to the highway. I booked this site for multiple weekends due to clinicals at the hospital. I ended up canceling my reservations early. I wasn't able to sleep at the park, there was so much noise. The owners drive around in the middle of the night to monitor the site, but there vehicle sounds like a freight train, it woke me up everytime they came through. I was convinced there was a dump truck sitting outside the front of our camper and checked several times. The sites have paved pads for the camper but some are very short, they do have a few pull through. They are full hookups which is a pro. The sites are extremely small. We could only fit the truck in front of our 35ft camper parked at an angle and I parked my vehicle in the grass (I think you're only technically allowed 1 vehicle). I called at 1 point to extend my stay from 1 weekend to the next (4 weekdays in between my weekend bookings) so I didn't have time move the camper off site. The guy on the phone lectured me that I was bad at bookings and needed to learn how to book sites in the future so it wasn't a problem for them. I booked 3 out of 4 weekends at this campground because they didn't have all 4 weekends available, and the other weekend I booked at another park so I was still close to the hospital for clinicals. I have never had someone lecture me about booking nor told me that it's improper to book multiple stays (3 separate weekends) in 1 booking. Most places have an online convenience fee for booking so if I had booked 3 separate times it would've been 3 separate charges and 2 additional booking fees. The guy was not pleasant. We arrived after hours but knew our site in advance. We were told there was information for us at the door, it was literally our name with the site number on it. There is no wifi, and we were never given codes to the bathroom. The office has really random hours and they seem to be in/out during these hours so you can't catch them. They are hard to get ahold of. I had emailed them a while back before booking and never got a response, I was able to call and talk with someone before booking. My husband called to cancel the site after I refused to go back due to the noise after the 1st weekend. I got more sleep driving back and forth 4 hours to my house than I did at the campground, which was 10min from the hospital. There are no amenities other than the museum. For the price I wouldn't expect full amenities. The price seems fair for what you're getting if you actually could sleep but I couldn't. I had this very uneasy feeling the entire time I was there, my husband did as well. I can't explain it, and I've never experienced it at any other campgrounds and I've stayed at quite a few campgrounds. Beyond an overnight stay because you're going to the museum I could not recommend staying here.
Edit to add: the potholes are atrocious. Don't even bother trying to get in if you have an older camper or vehicle you may break your axle. The potholes could be easily remedied with some gravel. They are bad and you cannot drive around them because they are everywhere and they are huge. The entrance and exit is just a gigantic pothole.
