Beware of the double payment scam.
We made a reservation about one month prior to our arrival. I tried to make the reservation online, but I was not able to because the system was not working. I called in and spoke to the lady in the office who took my information and card number and told me we were all set. Four days later I got a notification that my card was charged for the amount of the reservation.
When we arrived the day of our reservation, she did not have any record of us making said reservation. She also said that she NEVER charges you for your stay before you arrive. Instead she only charges you if you no show or when you arrive for your stay. So we had had to make a new reservation for the same night, luckily they had space. And we paid again (believing she was telling the truth). When I checked my bank statements walking out the door, I saw that she clearly had charged me when I made the initial reservation. When I found this out I walked back in and told her she had already charged me. This is when she explained that she NEVER charges for reservations until you arrive. I had to argue with her for 10 minutes showing her the statement, telling her when I called in and her repeatedly saying I didn’t pay her and that she doesn’t charge until you arrive. She also said she remembered speaking to my wife which is not true since I’m the one who called and made our reservation.
To her credit, she eventually resolved the situation 3 hours later. However, if I was not so persistent and had not remembered the charge; she would have gotten away with charging us twice for the same reservation. This is all the while she says that she NEVER charges for reservations until you arrive. So why was I charged?
On top of the billing issues, we tried to enjoy our stay at the RV park. However, when my wife tried to take our dogs on the trash ridden “nature trail” our dogs came back covered in ticks and she was disappointed in the state of the trail. To add insult to injury, when we came back from breakfast the next morning, we were driving 6 or 7 mph through the nearly empty Rv park when a guy with a leaf blower was motioning for us to slow down. When we didn’t slow down because we were going a reasonable speed he then proceeded to yell at us repeatedly to slow down. Considering that we weren’t speeding, this was very annoying. If he’s using his eyes as a radar gun he might want to get them recalibrated…
I will never come back here again and would recommend that you avoid this park.
