The old gun batteries were interesting to see and it was nice that there's not too much graffiti. The number of signs describing what was there was very insufficient. It was fun to wander through the old passageways but some of them were inexplicably locked and most of them lacked any lighting and 95% of them had no signage to describe what they might have been used for. If you have a great imagination or some foreknowledge of what you're looking at then you might have a better time here than someone who doesn't know anything about the fort. The gift shop lobby was maybe 100 square feet; there wasn't much there. Employees of the gift shop were unable to answer some specific questions about the fort. The bathrooms are a good walk from the gun batteries but they're clean.
