Slide Rock is an absolute must if you are in Sedona - it is a wonderful place to visit any time of the year.
Slide Rock is justifiably crowded during the summer; you can spend time in relaxation (I highly recommend bringing camping chairs!) or having fun riding the natural 'slides' in the river. I would suggest water shoes; be prepared to slip on the very slippery rocks!
The $20+ entry fee seems a bit excessive, but they do a remarkable job keeping this state park clean and the historic buildings well preserved. There are clean inside restrooms and a small cafe/convenience store open during daylight.
Pine Valley offers some truly majestic mountain scenery just a short drive from St George - a great respite from the heat in the warmer months and a great place for fall foliage when the lower elevations are still baking.
There is a great network of paved walking trails that circle the reservoir. A great number of locals fish here - from what I could tell they were catching quite a bit!
Such a stunningly gorgeous area alongside the river. Scenic drive from St George. No fees to just enter and enjoy during the day. There is a little gravel lot before a closed gate. There is entry for pedestrians on the sides of this gate
