Campsite: Deer Creek Valley RV Park

Deer Creek Valley RV Park is our 129th stop and we stayed for 11 nights. Check in was quick and particularly liked the organization of their park pamphlet. The interior roads, pads and small patios were concrete and it was easy to level up. No shade trees so did get pretty warm in the heat of the day but there was some nice grass between you and your neighbor. The grounds were well-maintained and clean (did not use the restrooms). The pool looked nice but was closed for the season and the dog park was large and has nice grass (watered it a few times when we were there). Although I appreciated the security gate, there was no way to get out after it closed around 6 pm so if you were a pedestrian, cyclist or motorcyclist, there was no key pad or sensor. You will get a little road noise from 1-70 but not too bad as compared to other places near an interstate. And quick and easy access to downtown. Connectivity (2 pm): Verizon 63.3down/23.3 up; T-Mobile 37.1 down/2.38 up; Park WiFi 0.56, 8.59 down/0.0, 0.14 up. The park WiFi was inconsistent during the day for the most basic web searches and email. They did have 62 analog cable TV stations. Overall, would rate a 4.4 and would stay here again in the future.

Campsite: Beachfront RV Park Resort

Gulf Waters Beachfront RV Resort is our 136th stop and stayed for 4 weeks. Overall I would rate a 4.8 and is in the top 10% of our places we have stayed. We had excellent communication before our arrival as well as ongoing communication while there. The front office staff were excellent and appreciated the guys helping us to our site. We had an issue and they were there to fix it before I walked back from the office. Great landscaping with ponds as well as excellent pads and a variety of site types to choose from. We chose a pretty basic one but the front of the rig faced the pond with easy access to the beach. The amenities were quite nice and there were numerous activities ranging from pet photos with Santa (and hot dogs) to bingo and a band. And getting mail was a breeze. During our time here, the park upgraded to 56 digital cable TV channels and 5G broadband internet service which has significantly higher speed during the day and has been consistent. Connectivity (8:00 pm on a Saturday night): Verizon 2.54 down/4.67 up; T-Mobile 1.55 down/0.13 up; Park WiFi 23.0 down/1.76 up

Campsite: Basin Campground — Kodachrome Basin State Park

We do a lot of hiking throughout the western US and have been very impressed by Utah State Parks. The staff were very pleasant, the facilities were excellent and the views were jaw dropping. As compared to Bryce, we had no issues with parking or overcrowded vistas. We hiked two trails (Panorama and Angels Palace) which were both excellent but Angels Palace is one of our favorite short hikes to date. And applause for having a dog friendly trail. If camping, would definitely stay here.
