Campsite: Blue Jay Campground - TEMPORARILY CLOSED

This is a great campground in the Cleveland national forest, east of San Juan Capistrano. Camping fees are $20 per night. Sites have picnic tables, fire rings, and flattened areas for tents. There are over 40 sites, and each has ample space. Lots of great hiking trails nearby. Bathrooms with pit toilets are accessible. There are water spigots, but they were turned off when I was there. Bring water just in case! There are dumpsters for trash- please use them, instead of leaving trash at the beautiful campsites. Dog friendly.

Campsite: Little Lyman Lake Campground

Beautiful spot next to a small lake. It's a bumpy 18 mile drive in on a dirt road- 4 wheel drive recommended. The campground has water, a pit toilet, and fire rings despite the remote location, there was more trash left around that we saw in other campgrounds in the area. Pack it in, pack it out, people!! We camped at the end of June and woke up to a light snow storm! Check the weather before you go!

Campsite: Manti-LaSal National Forest Lake Hill Campground

A beautiful campground near the top of Ephraim Canyon. There are about 10 sites, each with grill stands and picnic tables. There is water available, and an impressively clean pit toilet. The campground is adjacent to the a small, idyllic lake (reservoir) which is good for fishing, swimming, boating. In summer the campground was full of lush grass and flowers. There are many stunning hiking trails nearby, as well as trails for horses and ohvs. In summer it's hot and dry- 80s-90s- during the day, and cool (50s-70s) ar night. I thought this was a dream spot!
