On one level this is an amazing, barely known gem for cheap weekend camping that's almost never full.
On another level, it's the Wild West, so don't expect toilet paper or respectful neighbors at all times.
Right off the river. There are better sites than others but be prepared for people to walk through your campsite to access the river.
Also people park in the campsites for tubing, but aren't staying there.
This is the primary area folks camp at before going over Goodale Pass. There is a gorgeous meadow directly Northeast from the campground, across Cold Creek.
Clean water, plenty of flat ground for tents, we stayed here for two weeks while building the switchbacks on the way up to Goodale Pass.
Since then, stayed here many future times. Large fire pit. Great place to use as a base camp for day trips.
PACK OUT WHAT YOU PACK IN, AND MORE
Large, multi-faceted campground generally dedicated to fisherman. Access to the Hoh for put in or pull out in your raft, kayak, or drift boat.
Tons of sites, never seen it more than 10-15% full in later fall through spring.
You can always find some privacy, plenty of sites close on the river.
Small campground right on the other side of the road from the Hoh. Can get a little rowdy sometimes, but in winter, it's mostly people searching for steelhead and the rain keeps it quiet.
Decent shape, although fallen trees can be a problem.
