I have paddled the entire length of the Manistee River several times - from the headwaters to Lake Michigan. Using a map scaler and topographic maps, it measures 201+ miles from the spring-fed beaver pond (We have named it 'Put-in Pond') to the Manistee Lighthouse.

Each section has it's own beauty. Just finished the trip again last week and the river, while still in need of more clean up, is much, much cleaner than it was when I first paddled the whole thing in 1998.
