Dusty riding in late April. Trails on the south side of the highway are pretty straight and boring. The trails on the north side are better, there's tons of whoops on the single track trails and the surface is very sandy.

Around 2800 ft of elevation gain from the campground trailhead. Nice views while hiking along the creek, once you start heading up the hill there's a peak at the mountain every now and then but otherwise it's a lot of switchbacks and woods. Nice views at the top by the campground.
