A beautiful park and the gate attendants, Cliff and Gina are wonderful people as long as your behavior doesn't become a problem in the park. I had campsite #48 which is the closest one to the fishing dock but the water level in the lake is very low (September 2022) so I had no luck fishing from the dock, which is situated in a cove where the water was only knee deep at best.
Overall a pretty nice park but most of the roads in from highway 31 are too narrow for two cars to pass in opposite directions and the restroom and showers across from the marina are kinda rough and could use some improvements.
Mostly nice blacktop RV pads shaded by Oak and pecan trees. Decent bathroom/ shower facilities. Large park with a lot of water adjacent campsites. Nice fishing dock at the far end of the park. Several camp or picnic sites closed down at the far end.
Has a lot of water access. Showers have more privacy than most campgrounds I've been to. Road construction has the main road in blocked off but there's a somewhat confusing detour that takes you through a privately owned campground and marina to get there. Nice campground though.
It's closed until April. I camped at Brushie Prairie park close by. Does Google maps not realize that Brushie Prairie park exists? Yes, it is very close to Pecan Point park, but it's to the left when you come to the fork in the road instead of to the right which would take you to Pecan Point park. Let's see if this post leads to any improvement in Google maps. Are you paying attention Google?
