San Miguel camping is pretty rustic. There's no water, and a single pit toilet for everyone to share. It's a hike over sand dunes and up a narrow path from where the Island Packers leaves you. Each campsite holds up to 4 people, with one group site that allows 8. This is not a great spot for hammock camping, more of a low profile tent kind of place. It's windy, foggy, and damp. It's surrounded by giant coreopsis. It's honestly amazing. Don't forget guy lines to tie your tent to the shelter.
