Sullivan Lake itself is a full on 5 star, but the campground could be better. Campsites are all pretty far from the water, so we drove our stuff down there and packed into the small beach area. The hosts were also not keeping much control of late noise and extra vehicles.
Although I've never camped at this campground, I've used the trailhead here. The Kettle Crest is a beautiful place, but this area will be recovering from fire for many years. The campground was once set in a cozy forested spot near the highway. Since the fire, it looks very open and exposed. Be sure to bring an awning if you camp.
If Snow Peak Cabin isn't a 5 star, I don't know what is. We often ride from Sherman Pass to the cabin and back on our yearly mountain bike trip to the Kettle Crest.
We camped here as a mountain bike base to ride some loops around Ancient Lakes. Very interesting to find all these lakes in the desert of Washington. Free camping was nice too!
