Love this place! We drove down from Canada for the weekend & camped here 4 nights at Pine, one of the lean-to sites. It’s technically a walk-in site, but we were able to park the car less than 10m from camp. The site felt super private & there were plenty of trees for me to hang up my hammock as well. Bathrooms/showers were another 10m down the hill. The lean-to was amazing; we didn’t put the fly on the tent at all since it was covered, & we had enough space inside to arrange our chairs & hang out on the nights that it rained. Firewood is reasonably priced at $6/bundle & free (albeit wet) kindling. No ice sold at the park but the gate attendant gave us really helpful directions to a nearby gas station. Park staff were super friendly & helpful, and the view at the summit was absolutely gorgeous! Lots of bugs on the weekend we were there, but that’s to be expected given all of the flooding Vermont has experienced this summer. All in all, would visit again.
