Campsite: Governor Jim Hogg RV Park

Went camping here. The staff is really friendly, but the sites are right on top of each other, much worse than other places I've stayed. Also sites were fairly close to the road. That being said I booked 2 sites and glad I did so I had some room. The camping was nice and quiet despite the close proximity. Look for spots that have a bit of space behind the picnic table. We lucked out with a cleared space in the woods ( site 139 and 141) otherwise you camp very close to the road. Bathrooms were basic and usable , but never have soap. Hiking trail close by

Campsite: Russell Park

I could actually give this camping area 3 1/2 stars. As with most places around Georgetown lake, most of these spots are VERY CLOSE to each other. A few are spaced out nicely but not many. Reserve 2 together if you want a bit more privacy. Only a couple sites have views of the lake, the rest is wooded area. It was very quiet until my neighbors came home, then they were so loud it was very disruptive. Park hosts are very nice and helpful. Bathroom is very basic but has running water and works . It is close to the hiking trail.
