Beautiful river. Lots of opportunities, to fish, kayak, Canoe, tube, swim (if you can stand the cold water), view some amazing wildlife. . Some areas are very remote, while some parts of the river go through more inhabited areas. Fishing can be a little tricky, but it gets a little easier every time you go. The river runs through the Manistee national forest. Which is also a beautiful compliment to this river. If you're looking for seclusion or peace and quiet though, avoid summer holiday weekends, or any weekend you suspect might be busy on the river. Typically on these weekends you'll find your fare share of party tubers. Otherwise it's a beautiful relaxing environment. Just remember to leave no trace (clean up after yourselves).
