Want to relay some information for anyone in a similar situation & hopefully save someone else the headache. They DO gate the entrance in the off-season so you can't stay here in the off-season even with the understanding that it will be unstaffed & comfort stations closed, like some other NH state park campgrounds. No one answers the phone or returns messages so we had no way of knowing if it was gated due to the vague info on their site. As of 10/21/23, the gate was locked when we drove by. Thank goodness we'd found another campground (Lake Francis SP was open, same date). Wish they'd update their site & save campers the stress of knowing where they're going to stay after a 4 hour drive & setting up in the dark in the fall in the rain with kids & dogs. Especially being the closest campground to the Canada/US border (that we found, at least), this information would be especially helpful to be updated & current on their site.
