Campsite: Isla Blanca Park

My favorite place on Earth right now. The island is remarkable but Isla Blanca Park is the jewel of the island.

There is a fee to go in. I believe it’s $10 per car however, I have a yearly pass which is $100. The park has swimming and fishing areas. It has a rock pier that extends into the ocean. This area is known as the jetties. It is constantly getting boat traffic from commercial boats to private boats, jetskis and kite surfing which are a sight to see. This park has picnic areas with restrooms and showers throughout the entire park. There is a sidewalk that surrounds the entire park, which is perfect for biking, walking or running. There is a church for the residence of the park, however everyone is welcome. There is a memorial for those lost at sea & a Jesus statue. There is a small store that sells beverages and snacks near the Jesus statue. The left side of the rock pier is for swimming, while the right side of the rock pier has strong currents and waves, therefore be careful if swimming in this area. Here in the rock pier, there are constant dolphin, sea turtle, and pelican sightings. Don’t recommend walking out to the rock pier if it is a high tide and waves are strong as it is a dangerous combination. The sand dunes are not for climbing or walking. Please do not leave trash behind as there are many trash cans to dump your trash. Remember to love sea animals and give back to Earth/all by taking care of this area. Please do not discard cigarette buds on the floor or fishing gear. Once again, there are trash cans everywhere. Lastly, this area has a trailer park and in the beginning there is a donation box for books, leave a book take a book. Best time to go is during sunrise or sunset as view is an extraordinary one.
