We enjoyed a day trip to the park in late May. The state hiking club trail is a great mix of prairie and wooded areas with great views. We saw heron, deer, loon, and other wildlife. After our hike, the kids cooled off at the small swimming beach. Although we did not take advantage, the park offers kayak rentals and fishing docks. The gift shop has a selection of stickers and t-shirts.
