Campsite: Kittatinny Campground

We recently took our first trip to this campground. Me, my wife and kids stayed in one of the deluxe cabins, because we have a baby with us, and my brothers tented on a nearby campsite.

The cabin was quite nice, very clean, with a nice big bathroom and good shower. There was plenty of room for the kids which was good on the day we got rained out. My only knocks on the cabin itself are that the water was stinky, sulphur smelling. I don't think it's dangerous but we chose to use bottled water mostly anyway. Also the beds could have been a bit larger, I'm not an enormous dude but my feet were hanging off the bottom.

The camp was nearly deserted when we were there in mid October, which is good because in the section that we were in (where it seems like most or all of the cabins are), the camping spots were extremely close together. The hookup for the next lot's RV was literally a few feet from the door or my cabin. If we were there when it was packed during peak season, I would not have been happy with how cramped it was. That was the section of the camp between the main road and the river and I guess it's probably mainly used by rafters in the summer months. The main bulk of the camp is on the other side of the road and is much nicer and more spread out. If you aren't RVing or getting a cabin that's where I would suggest you camp. There's a really nice playground over there that my kids loved, too.

Service-wise everything was fine. The employees left at 1pm on Thursday and left our keys at the door, which I thought was strange since check in isn't until 2pm, but it wasn't an issue for us. Garbage was picked up regularly, the cabin was spotless when we arrived and otherwise I didn't see or hear from staff (that's a good thing imo). Staff in the camp store were nice also.

We had a good time and wouldn't mind returning again in the future.
