Campsite: Pecanland RV Park

This is a good 1-2 nighter if you are traveling through or doing something in the area like the Military museum. All concrete sites are super narrow and cracked all over and not very level. Our 40' rig with 14' trailer barely fit in the site length wise, and we were partly in the grass width wise. Only 30 amps which worked fine for us and water hookup was good. Didn't hook up sewer as we didn't need too. Mostly very rundown mobile homes and a few TT that also looked in terrible shape. Getting into the place was very tight to make the turn to get into our site. No management or anyone to check in and paid online and did the whole process online. One low hanging tree scraped up our roof a little bit but just dragging and no damage. The few people I did see outside were friendly. Lots of dogs always barking when walking by them. Lots of stray cats. Probably would stay again for a night but no longer than that.

Campsite: Texhoma Park Campground

This is a city park that has electrical hookups for free. No longer has a dump station or water station that I could find, although there was a place that I could tell used to have both. Easy to find a spot for the day I was there and the site I chose fit my 40'rig with 14'trailer and a prius. Gravel level sites, electrical was good and fairly easy to maneuver my rig and trailer around. When I showed up at around 5ish there was only 3 other rigs, but by end of the night there was 8 total including us. Only supposed to stay 1 night, but there was a few that looked like they had been there awhile, and also had some people sleeping out of cars in the park too. Seemed safe and people that I encountered were friendly. There is a train that goes through multiple times at various times of the night according to my wife, but it never woke me up. Livestock smell in the morning, but never smelled it at night so wind must have switched. Overall its a great place to stay 1 night for free, which is the intent and I cannot thank the city of Dumas enough for offering this service for us Rvers.
