This trail is an alternative to driving the road up to Deer Park. The first 2 miles is steep and you will be grateful for the bench placed at the top of Deer Ridge. Beyond the bench the trail climbs more gradually with several views of the surrounding mountains.
Ten Mile Camp on the Duckabush River trail is a pleasant place to spend the night. A few of the sites have seating and fire rings. The Privy was shattered by a deadfall and the Bear wires are useless. There are many large trees and obstacles across the last 2 miles and It’s 11 Miles from the trailhead.
We had lunch at Wilder on our way to Hayes River. There is a shelter and the campsite area is a level Meadow with easy access to water.
