Spent a couple of beautiful days at lofers bend west camping on the lake!
The first day was really windy and a little bit chilly but I was able to get a spot in the trees which was a little bit more protected because the park wasn’t completely full that night. The next day I moved to another campground that my friends had reserved and the wind died down enough so that I could get out on the kayak. The water was still pretty rough but I was able to paddle all the way out to the island we’re all the birds are and it was amazing. The scenery was beautiful the cliffs were beautiful and the sunset was amazing.
The next couple of days were not nearly as windy but the park was completely full because it was a weekend and the weather was so great. There were lots of kids around and the campground was very active but the noise was kept to a reasonable level and no one disrespected the rules by playing music too loud at night or anything like that which was very appreciated.
One thing I would recommend is that it’s better to get a campsite within the trees instead of closer to the boat ramp because the spots by the boat ramp or not protected by trees and are completely out in the open to the wind if it’s windy.
The campground was kept very clean and there were plenty of supplies in the bathrooms and trash cans around.
I would definitely return to this camp campground it was a great value for the cost and beautiful views!
