This was our 3rd and likely last stay with Huttopia, which we have loved so dearly until this visit. We have been to both the White Mountains and Southern Maine locations, which have far exceeded our expectations. However, the stay in the Adirondacks left much to be desired.
For starters, the staff at this location was far from friendly, which was something we always enjoyed at the other two locations in the Northeast and should be the minimum expectation in the hospitality industry. Upon entering our accommodation, there was confetti on the floor from the previous guests, as well as hair all over the entire bathroom floor. I had to sweep up before we could even more our stuff in. There was old food in the refrigerator and we later discovered an old package of hamburger buns behind the fridge when a mouse was snacking on it at 4 am. Critters are to be expected but proper clean up of food from previous guests would have eliminated this encounter.
Furthermore, the bedsheets were stained and the bed support under the mattress was broken. We were provided with two towels for the entire stay, which needed to be used for drying dishes, drying hands, showering, etc. When we requested more towels from one of the staff members, she rudely told us we only get two towels and could ask at the main desk if they could provide more (a 15 minute walk from our accommodation).
Overall, the experience left much to be desired and definitely soured our beloved Huttopia experiences. The staff was less than approachable during our stay and when contacting the Huttopia team after our stay, they said there was nothing they could do since I didn't mention it while we were on the grounds.
Note: (Yes, that is a large dead millipede in the food photo. It was there on our arrival and is further evidence of lack of cleaning prior to our arrival.)
