Campsite: LeFleur's Bluff State Park
Not an elegant fancy place but a wonderful oasis near tge city of Jackson MS. Nice level sites with electricity and water. Hot water in the free showers!! And a cute little lake
Campsite: Yoakum County Park
Mid January
. A good one night stop over! But the spots are just on the edge of the golf course entrance road. free camping with electricity. No Bathroom. Good walking around the golf course.
Campsite: Cottonwood Campground — Big Bend National Park
A much quieter smaller more rustic campground than Chisos Basin or Rio Grande village. Saw a great horned owl! Beautiful Vermillion Flycatcher! Very clean pit toilets. Nice flat camp sites. No hook ups. One filtered potable water spigot. Nice little gift shop and small store at Castalon nearby. .
Campsite: Chisos Basin Campground — Big Bend National Park
Camped in site 37 . A central campground for trails and the very nice restaurant. But for a “dark sky” park it was annoying to have lights on all night around the bathrooms! Kind of crowded. But friendly campers in mid January! We liked Cottonwood campground better; more rustic.
