Campsite: Military Park New Orleans Joint Reserve Base/NAS Aviation Arbor RV Park

As of early 2022: There WAS 2 sides to this park. The "long term" side is closed and unlikely to open. It was temporary to start with to provide options after hurricanes and is no longer funded. There is a "Campground" side that is super nice. The staff is very helpful and friendly and there is a worker taking care of the grounds that puts in some serious hours. Max stay is six months with a months vacancy required before returning. The power is 30 and 50 amp and has been very stable. Sewer at each site and a dump station available. Utilities included in rental rate. Most sites are double concrete pads. You'll park on a fairly level slab with a nice paved patio side. There's WiFi that runs max about 5mbps. It can get bogged down during evening hours but there are plenty of nodes that give a strong signal throughout the park. WiFi is run by Navy MWR and requires a free account and login daily. Cell coverage is good from the big three carriers. No complaints about the water taste with plenty of pressure. Laundry is available and cheap. There are clean bathrooms with showers as well. There is a small pavilion with games to check out as well. Roads in the park were good when we got here then it rained for two weeks straight that took a toll. They are on it tho because I see a delivery of fresh gravel.

It is on a military base. You'll need the normal credentials to get on base. You should expect military sounds but they don't last all night. You do get a free airshow daily. There is a large commissary and exchange walking distance from the park. The rest of the base is clean and well kept. It's a joint reserve base and gets pretty quiet sometimes.

The local area is kind of at the edge of town. Expect about 30 minutes to French Quarter, more with traffic. About 15 to get to other big shopping areas with the typical urban stuff.
