Stock up in town on your way in. The site is remote, but very safe. Locals travel much further into the forest than that. The best times are what many would call the "Off Season" The beautiful old growth valleys really come to life when a few light rains are in the forecast. BE ADVISED there are several active gold claims in the area. Stay out signs mean just that. They mean everyone, even you. And yes, yes the would mind very much even if it was to take a pic of a flower. Stay out of the gold claims and off the cliffs. Beyond that play nicely and take your damn garbage out with you.
