Campsite: Jay Landings Marina & RV Park

This place should have more stars if it wasn't for the unprofessional attitude from the Grounds Manager! I could have overlooked the little things if it wasn't for dealing with her during my stay. It does have nice views of the water, the grounds are just ok. There is absolutely no type of drainage, probably due to this part of AL not expecting so much rain on a normal basis.?? But none the less, there was way too much flooding all over the grounds. It flooded all around the trailers, I had to park thru a mud pit everyday. I was told after the Grounds Manager got back from vacation that I should have my door facing the water, but the Owners Son had me park the opposite upon arrival, as typically the hook ups are on the drivers side anyhow. Luckily I did park as I did, as it flooded on the grass side, so I would have had to trudge through a small lake every time I went in/out of my door. Although I booked well in advance, I was put in the worst spot in the park! It appeared that most of the spaces have been graded and set up properly for RV leveling, mine was not! Made it difficult to get leveled out and hooked up correctly. With my extremely short commute to my job site, it would have been a decent place. But the attitude and harassment from the Grounds Manager was extremely unprofessional, which made it a place I would not want to stay at again as long as she is running the place! Not to mention being charged for 3 extra weeks of rent when I wasn't occupying the space. So they will get double rent if someone else was in that space before/after I was there. Good business, I guess. After talking to a few neighbors, it turns out that they have issues with the Grounds Manager as well, but they just deal with it?? If more people spoke frankly and honestly, maybe something would get done.

Update: Of course the owner would have an excuse/ and try to justify everything I said in my review. However, the facts are facts and on my last day pulling out, I was happy to hear that I was not the only one to have such issues with the Grounds Manager. So, knowing that I was not the only person who had conflict with her attitude was comforting. These are people I never met during my stay and just stopped by as I was unhooking and decided to share their own experiences there. As I mentioned all of the other issues (I never made it sound as if they could do anything about the weather), would have been fine to deal with if it wasn't for the Manager. The future guests should be able to make their own decisions based on all reviews and responses. But it needs to be the honest truth, no sugar coating or hiding any type of details.
