Perfect for kayak sailing, James Island has two separate camping areas. One is accessible by dock or dinghy with large grassy camp areas with good shade and room for scores of tents. The other is a Cascade Marine Trail Campsite that is reserved for human/wind powered beachable craft with 3 sites.

All have picnic tables, fire rings, and composting toilet. Both camping areas have easy landing gravel beaches.
