I’ve stayed here for cabin and tent camping on 4 different occasions. Most recently, I stayed at primitive tent site T2 which was far from the restroom but private and roomy. It was shady most of the day which meant our tent never got really hot even during a 90 degree day. The road and train noise was apparent at night, so ear plugs helped a lot. I noticed that you could hear the river from sites T14-16 which was pleasant. The staff was friendly and helpful. The other campers were respectful of quiet time. The bathroom (near the pool) was cleaned multiple times during the day while I was there. There’s a water bottle filling station there too. There’s a trail to the river which is really beautiful. Overall it was pleasant walking around the campground since it was so pretty. Definitely worth the price for all the amenities, especially in the summer when everything is open.
I stayed in 3 different deluxe cabins during the winter. KT1, KL8, and the ones around it are older but clean and warm. I found the small deluxe cabin to be really dimly lit. KL19 is newer and brighter but it was cold even with the heater. We called maintenance about it and they came right away but they said everything was working. Next time I’d bring my own space heater since it was so uncomfortable. Overall they’re all well stocked, clean cabins in a gorgeous setting, just pricey. Having a KOA membership helps a little.
That being said, I’d definitely recommend this place to friends. The Willkommen bus stop is very close and will take you into town and back for no cost (at time of writing). You just hop on and off. FYI, if you take the Amtrak from Everett, a local shuttle service can pick you up (for a fee) right in front of the office and drop you off at the station.
