The hours of the gates really interferes with our ability to enjoy this campground. The camp sites and scenery are majestic but we had to camp elsewhere the first night of our reservation because we weren’t going to make it in time. Tried calling but phones didn’t work. Then had to leave a night early because we needed to leave at 3am and the gates would be closed. Paid for three nights and stayed one because of the gates. The showers were very nice. As others mentioned it is quite a hilly walk but I enjoyed it. I really would come back but just don’t make the mistake we did and assume you would be able to get in and out.
