Has potential but needs improvements, especially for winter guests. When we arrived the heat was not on and the cabin was about 42°. (Also the key was not left in the cabin for us and the steps/walkways were covered with snow/ice.) We were provided two small electric heaters. There was a propane stove in the living room, but we were told not to use it due to the danger of the wind blowing out the pilot light. There were thermostats in each room as well, though they didn’t seem to actually control anything. With the heaters in separate rooms, it took two hours to raise the temperature just 10°. We had to consolidate the heaters in the bedroom to maximize warmth, though this came with a different set of problems as two heaters at full blast overwhelmed the circuits in the bedroom and lead to a very fishy smell that indicated something was overheating (likely in the walls). Management was informed of the electrical issues via a phone message but never responded. We were able to fix the smell/overheating by moving the heaters to opposite sides of the room and not running them at full power. We used towels and pillows to further insulate the doors and windows and were able to get the temperature in the bedroom up to 65°. The temperatures outside dropped to about 10° our second night, so we asked for and were provided with extra blankets. The living room stayed in the 40s for our entire stay due to the heat situation, and the dishwasher was unfortunately broken so we hand-washed dishes in the cold. All that said, the cabin had a nice rustic feel and was decently well-stocked in terms of cookware. It would’ve been nice to have some basic cooking essentials like salt and pepper, though management did provide those to us when asked (which was appreciated and saved our meal). The property was covered in snow but seems like it’d be very nice to utilize the available communal amenities during warmer times. Our experience was definitely impacted by the colder than expected temperatures and wind, which is not something management could’ve controlled, though they should probably have been better prepared knowing they would be hosting winter guests. Even though the cabin can technically sleep four, there’s no way it would’ve worked with the heating situation the way it was. Also, it would’ve been nice if they had brought us extra blankets immediately instead of us having to ask! I wouldn’t completely rule this place out as I’m sure it’s very nice in the summer, but there is definitely work to be done to make it a better experience for winter guests.
