Litke Park is a nice and clean small-town campground. There is a fee and a pay station at the campground entrance. I did not see any other campers making payments, even big RV rigs with electrical connections, so maybe there is a permitting system set-up for locals that like to use the park. The cleaning crew came when I was there, and they kept the simple toilet/shower building clean. The water is definitely well-water because the hot water has a sulfur smell, but it is warm and plentiful. You can walk over to the Grist Mill along the Upper Iowa River to take some pictures of this appealing location. Most of the campgrounds are level and under tall hardwood trees. It was nice seeing and hearing children playing on the simple playground equipment there.
This is a good campground with service for RVs, and in my case for van camping. Of course tent camping is welcome too! Bathrooms are clean and the showers are hot. Strong cellular service is present. Be sure to hike the Stony Fork nature trail. It's 1 mi and passes through a white pine forest planted in 1959 and the trail passes through rhododendrons. Very nice hike and peaceful place to stay.
