Campsite: Float-Rite Park

Getting there, there is a 5$ parking fee and I believe it is 16$ per person to go tubing down the river. There is, however, a few safety hazards, some can be fixed and some can't. But if you can get past them its a very fun place to be for an afternoon.

The river itself is very, very, shallow; no more than 3-4 feet deep on a good day. The problem is that the river floor is very rocky, so if you ever need to get up and walk because of currents, you run the risk of cutting yourself on a sharp rock. I was unlucky and DID NOT bring water shoes as the people I was with never told me that it was extremely rocky. For that reason I highly recommend you bring some form of water shoes.

Some rocks are also very tall and just barely poke out of the water meaning that even if you are just chilling in a tube you'll be caught by surprise when a rock hits you in the rear end and possibly gives you a bruise.

I do NOT recommend this place for any young kids or older folk whose body might not be what it used to be. The majority of the people there are maybe 16-30 meaning that there's a lot of alcoholic beverages a spew and a lot of people who do not think about any smaller kids. Some one brought a full-fledged inflatable sex doll to accompany them down the river and were very loud and probably also didn't say many family-friendly PG clean things.

For older folks, especially if your body isn't as good as it used to be, this can be a hazardous place if you're not careful. My father who is over 50 got caught on a rock at some point and the current was so strong he couldn't even stand up especially with a bad shoulder and knee. We couldn't swim back either because of said strong current. But someone was nice enough to grab our tubes before it was too late so we didn't end up losing him.

There's a 'rapids' part of the river that is especially bad for said older or younger folks who run the risk of getting washed away from their group, so there's a sign and a place to exit, if you apply PLEASE use it. Also take great care in tying all your tubes together. I was ambitious and wanted to be alone so i could just swim and goof without bothering others in my group. That decision was proven to be a bad one as I got stuck on the sides of the river a few times where the current pushes in so you're trapped in a pocket that you cannot swim out of unless you're a very, very, strong swimmer.

The place is a blast though if you can get past all of what I've just said.
