Campsite: Catfish Point Picnic and Dispersed Camping Area

This was our first time visiting Horseshoe lake. We normally head straight to Bartlett lake like everyone else. I was pleasantly surprised by the campground. It's small, but it has nice level sites. A few of them are a little over grown, so maybe bring a weed whacker. The lake itself is not very accessable by vehicle. If you have a boat of any sort, you're in luck. We tried to had out at the boat ramp, but it's small and became very crowded. We decided to visit the dam, and happen to stumble upon this little spot right below the main lookout area. It's hidden between a rock cropping and the river, and it's surrounded by trees for complete privacy. We spent both of our days here completely undisturbed. We have 5 little dogs so that was really awesome!! I would recommend taking a vehicle with some clearance. I have a Subaru Outback sport, and it made it there and back fine, but it was really rough on it. Happy camping!
