My family loves Trout Creek Campground! We camp here at least once a year. Lucky for us this paradise is just about an hour from our home. The campsites are shady and the river is the best. I did prefer it before the changes of recent years, they changed up the sites a little and now you have to reserve your space online, but it is still great! To address some negative comments in these other reviews, I'd just like to clarify. There are outhouses, not bathrooms and temperatures rise to 100+ all summer here, so yes they don't smell good when you have to use them. The year the campground was closed for "no reason", we had had huge storms, fires and mudslides here after a severe drought. So yeah, there was probably a reason. Complaining about rattlesnakes in the wilds of Northern California during the summer months as part of a campground review is just silly. They live here, i simply stomp wherever I go and i never see them. Have fun, leave only footprints, take only memories!
