Excellent trail to go for a nice fall hike. Wide clearly marked trail for at least the first mile or so.

The day use area is at the start of the canpground, with a nice set of picnic tables and a covered group area with a large stone fire pit. Multiple pit toilets throughout the camp. Seems like all the campsites are situated directly on the American River. Not much privacy between campsites, but very convenient access.

Stopped here for a bit to sit at the picnic table and take in the views right by the American River. Is nice to visit when no has the place reserved and use the picnic table and maybe the old outhouse, which is in great working condition.
