A fantastic shelter with wonderful staff who take excellent care of all animals. We just adopted our baby Border Collie mix, Birdie, from HPA! a few days ago from here and could not have been happier with the process. After initially completing the application and noting that we were looking for a young dog that would get along with our cat, HPA! contacted us to let us know our adoption application was approved, and sent us options for pets they thought would be a good fit!

We fell in love with Birdie immediately, and could not believe she had ever been on the euthanasia list at a different shelter. Her awesome foster mom, who also works for HPA! did a great job with her before she found her home with us, and even walked us through the adoption paperwork and process.

This shelter is the most well-kept and well-managed one we have seen, and certainly lives up to its positive online reviews. It even has an on-site clinic and dog training facilities. Could not recommend Houston Pets Alive! more highly!!
