Campsite: Pine Lake RV Resort

We lived at Pine Lake from Nov 21-Sept 22

Pros: The folks that work there are easy to deal with. I read the other reviews and Im not sure why people have issues here. If you are doing what your suppose to do and not speeding in the park (VERY STRICT ABOUT THIS) then you should have no issues.

-The Owner has many "helpers" that help when they can for money off rent. They are not employees however.

-Anytime we had issues Vicky and Gina were relatively quick to respond and at least offer a solution. -They will refund any money lost from the washers and dryers.

-the roads are sugar sand and need constantly maintained, to which Tony does a great job doing! Anytime it rains theres maintenance needed.

-Dog allowed

-Age of camper not a concern

-There are many trails to walk and another lake towards the back of the property. Beautiful nature here

-close to Pinehurst, Southern Pines, Raeford, Ft. Bragg

-Its affordable!

-There are a few really cute cabins!

-Golf carts welcome! Its 100 acres to explore.

-Theres a gun range! Pew pew

Cons:

-The political flags. This is a professional business, I disagree with this decision and people want to relax. They get enough turmoil in the regular world. You can support your military without political affiliation.

-The "laundry" facility

washers and dryers were broken at least 5 times I tried to use them. The floor is caving in in the "laundry" room which is just the front 1/4 of a camo painted trailer.

-They advertise: wifi, propane refills, and a pool. The first 2 are not actually available. The pool was open very sporadically. The one time I swam, there was so much bleach and it was warm like bathwater so not even refreshing. Someone above said you had to pay for the pool. This is FALSE its free....when its open.

-There are certain rules but they are not always followed, as this is mainly a place for fulltimers or workers passing through. For example: Ive heard a park employee mutiple times say people can park in empty spots if no one is there. Then a camper was "fined" for doing just that.

-The sites are very tight. If you have more than 1 vehicle to park you might have an issue. And the further towards the lake you get, the more sloped the sites are. Nothing much over 40ft gets in here easily.

-The sewage seems to be an ongoing issue. You may only dump at your site certain days and times of day. They give you a schedule at check in.

-Because of the sewage issue, you can not swin in the lake or eat any catches out of it due to contamination.

-They were diffucult to reach at first when trying to make a reservation. No website or online anything here. It all has to be done in person or over the phone and the number listed on google is not answered without trying many times.

-The owner will tell you one thing and the employees will say different. Its like a popularity contest sometimes. Who's mad at who this week? The park is ran on emotional decisions sometimes.

My advice...stay neutral, speak to people with respect and a calm head, follow the rules, pay your rent, dont litter, dont run over the hookups, dont speed in the park, respect the quiet hours, and you should be fine!

Youll have to decide if you can live without promised amenities.

I would not place this in a "Resort" category as the name indicates but its a peaceful place with great nature!
