Camped for a week mid-July, wasn't packed and I got a great spot very close to the river. The sound of the water was mesmerizing. There was a trail down to a little rocky beach right on the water and the river is very wade-able. Pretty rocks.
Biting flies, bring bug spray. Picnic tables and fire rings. Tons of tree cover. 20 minutes from town but feels very remote. 14 dollars a night. Vault toilets.
Never camped here but great place to stop and stretch, use the restroom, let the dogs get a drink, and take pictures.
Bird watching.
End of the line for water recreation like rafting, kayaks, paddleboards.
