I give this star 5 stars as years as a camper, of several years and many weeks of camp. However, as a strict Christian Conservative, as an employee, as both a K.P. (Kitchen Helper/Person) and a Camp Counselor for one summer…I give this camp an honest 2 stars. I was not hired back as a Camp Counselor, even after being voted as a Camp Counselor Camper Favorite. The reason being by Camping Directors Thelda Dillon and others was that I “refused to participate in the Pledge of Allegiance to a Flag” with an idol (a Golden Eagle) with my hand over my heart. To me, this is direct idol worship.I follow the bible. I respectfully stood by our Country’s Flag quietly but refused to worship a false idol, a Golden Eagle, and continue to not worship false idols to this day. I never preached my beliefs to campers. I am absolutely heartbroken over Hidden Hollow’s decision to not rehire me, to this day.
