Beautiful Campground. We stayed at site 56e and loved that there was a dock just across the road and a short, 50 or so step, walk to the lake from our campsite. The bathroom/shower house appeared to be new and the showers were nice and warm! Fabulous smoke free fire pits at each of the campsites too! We saw deer walking through the campgrounds, and through our site, every day during our stay. We saw fireflies, heard loons and owls and toads in the evening.

The only negatives I can share have nothing to do with the park. Apparently, this has been an especially buggy/mosquito year so far. I would encourage anyone planning on spending time outside of your camper or tent to bring mosquito netting, bug spray and clothing that covers anything you don’t want to get bitten. It was bad. We broke out the thermacell mosquito repellent device and it saved us at our campsite. We are buying the thermacell devices that clip on for future visits to the area after this trip :)

The campsites are pretty close together but it wasn’t an issue as far as privacy, there’s plenty of greenery between campsites. The issue we had was regarding noise of a neighboring camper, specifically, their use of what I can only imagine was a fan on full blast or air conditioner or generator? It was loud enough that once turned on we were unable to hear the sounds of nature just the rumble of whatever it was they turned on. Kind of a bummer but we were able to hear well prior to the mechanical interruption….

Overall, we will definitely be back, likely in the fall and crossing our fingers for a hard frost before our arrival!!!
