There weren’t many photos of the campsites on the website for this place, so we didn’t know exactly what we were getting into. We were just passing by on a road trip and thought “it’s only one night if it sucks.” But it did NOT suck. The drive in was beautiful! Rolling grass fields, a calm lake, and dreamy Midwest skies welcomed us to a grassy campsite on the lake. There wasn’t much privacy between sights, and a young girl riding her pink bike up and down the road kept giving us the stink eye, but we had a wonderful night. The electricity at the campsite was reliable. There was a fenced in dog park with little prairie dogs under it my dog had a great time chasing. I slept for 10 hours as it was such a quiet spot. It was a bit buggy though - I received 47 mosquito bites on my legs. Truly a new personal record. Yes, I used bug spray. Maybe should’ve worn pants.
