What a hidden gem!! We love camping at state parks and this was our first time camping in South Carolina. It’s very small, but so well maintained and the sites are wooded, level, and fairly private. We stayed in a pull through that had gravel so leveling our camper was very easy. The road it paved and everything else is sand/dirt. It was raining when we got there so the kids were a muddy mess but hey that’s camping. There is a shower station near the river to clean off dirty feet. The campsites are right next to the river, and there is a nice easy trail along the river, some docks (the water was really high so they were almost underwater). The host/ staff were pleasant and even have a bucket of candy to give to the kids. There is fuel and dollar general super close. The only downside was that we could hear the traffic from 95, but we stopped here for a night on a long trip so proximity to 95 was a requirement for us. Booking was so easy, they have pictures of every site, and the campground is handicap accessible with an ADA designated site. Highly recommend, and will absolutely be back next time we head on a roadtrip south.
