We stay at a lot of KOA campgrounds. This was our first at a KOA Journey as opposed to KOA Holiday or Resort. After reading the definitions on the KOA site my expectations were lowered a little. I normally stay at the KOA (Erie/McKean) but this one was closest to a family wedding in Cambridge Springs and was a bonus camping trip for us.

I was pleasantly surprised it still had some Holiday type features like a nice pool, camp store, fishing ponds and play areas. What you won't find it deluxe paved patio sites and fancy cabins. Our Site was a grass pull through. It was pretty level and the electric, water, and sewar hook ups were in good shape and easy to access. I

We visited on their last weekend of the season. The store while still reasonably stocked had some good end of season sales going on. The check in people were friendly and efficient and seemed genuinely happy to see us. Very nice people

Traveling in a pop up camper clean shower/bathroom facilities are important to us. These were clean and in good working order. The building isn't heated like KOA's that stay open year around in this area, so I'm not faulting them for this. While the shower was one of the ones I usually hate because of having to press a button to turn on the shower, the shower did get hot enough and it stayed on long enough to have a decent shower. It took two presses on the shower as I was having a semi luxurious hot shower since the place wasn't real crowded.

I found this place clean, comfortable and well run. If life brings us to this area, we will definitely stay again.
