Any vacation is what you make of it….our family has not had an opportunity for all of us to be together in quite a while due to covid. That’s really what we wanted out of the weekend. The female staff member who manages reservations and on-site is awesome! We rented 5 cabins….they were all clean, but each had different amenities. Our cabin was the largest #55 and is where we all gathered and cooked. There are very few pots, pans, bowls, essential cooking utensils, coffee cups, glasses, etc. We were able to borrow from the other 4 cabins and went to Walmart and bought the other things we needed, which was not too far away. The AC in the main level of the cabins was awesome, but the loft level beds are too hot for anyone to sleep comfortably. Every cabin had different types and sizes of refrigerators, stoves and microwaves, so you may want to ask when reserving if that makes a difference in choice of cabins. Our cabins were literally clustered together so it was like we rented a little community, which was super nice for a large family renting multiples. The lake was easily accessible and we were also able to fish with the kids along the shoreline. The pool is a little green, could use some attention and is small for a large group, but the kids enjoyed it anyway. Overall, the property is clean and quiet, no animals running loose. It is also pet friendly for a reasonable fee for those in our family wanting to bring their pets. The rental rates for the cabins really should be a bit lower, but they’re affordable. So, if you’re looking for upscale cabin living, maybe this isn’t the place to rent, but if you’re wanting quality time with family in a comfortable, safe, clean environment with only one dust pan out of 5 cabins (LOL), this is an ideal spot. I gave 4 stars because we made the most of it, and were able to spend some fun time together that is hard to come by, especially over the last couple of tough years!
