Not so great experience. This is very remote and about an hour from Hwy 101. The road is gravel after the hatchery. The road was pretty dangerous and with falling rocks and was not maintained. We had to get out and move a few smaller boulders so we could drive past. There were some campers that looked like they've been there for months. Maybe homeless or just camping for an extended period. I'm not sure. There is no drinking water and only vault toilets. There were mosquitoes everywhere and nothing seemed to help. When we went, all of the sites were taken except for one that did not have easy river access. You have to hike down a rocky path so it is not great for kids or older adults. The river is pretty and the sites are free but they fill up quickly. You'd be better off going to someplace that can be reserved.
